Atheros released their HAL under an ISC license

This is NOT the same HAL that is used by madwifi-ng – just to hopefully stop some of the questions – This mail was sent to the ath5k-devel mailing list last night

As part of our commitment to help support all of our Atheros devices
under Linux we’d like to announce the release of our Atheros HAL for
our 802.11abg chipsets under the ISC license.

You can find it here:

http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/mcgrof/legacy-hal.tar.bz2

This can be used as a source of documentation to help ath5k move
forward to support our 802.11abg chipsets as best as possible in
the Linux kernel. We look forward to keep working strongly with the
community on advancing support of all our Atheros chipsets under Linux.

Awesome. Simply Awesome.

Thank you!

I want to say thank you to everyone who helped me keep my apartment – the money has been collected, I just unpacked my car back into my apartment, and tomorrow morning I go to get the money order… everyone has really amazed me, and honestly, I can not thank you all enough! After I get the money order, I will take the picture, but for now, I need to scoot out of here and get to bed so I can be rested for tomorrow :)

Still needing a bit more help

Thank you very much to everyone who has helped thus far, I still need almost 360USD – Almost there, but not quite – I have to turn in the money tomorrow, so help is *greatly* appreciated.

It was pointed out to me by someone that it was hard to donate as well because of the lack of a clicky button and perhaps that would help… so… I am going to attempt to add a button to this post… Hopefully this works, I am not sure how wordpress handles html code in a post, so lets see how it goes…

Amount: $

Hopefully it helps, really do appreciate any help guys and gals from the internet!

Edited: Thank you for the donation! Down to needing 320, so almost there!

Please help… if you can…

So, I have a couple of options, since I am not going to be moving in with Marsha’s grandparents afterall, I currently have 400.84 in my paypal account, and I need to get to either 800, in order to move to a different apartment, or if I can come up with 1343.55 I can continue to stay in my apartment – Preferable to stay in my apartment, since I have my furniture here, and no real way to move it to the new place, but the new place is 400 and all utilities are included (including internet!) So… I am straight up begging here – if you can afford to spare it, if you would be willing to donate some money to either keep me from being homeless, or get me into a new place, I would be forever grateful.
I don’t currently have a stream of income, but I do need to go back to S4F and talk to them, and they are open to re-hiring me! And if that happens, I will have a steady stream of income and willing to pay back every cent that everyone has so far donated to the cause.

I only have until around 6PM CST today to get the money though, which is the sucky part (due to the eviction)

The paypal email is steev@steev.net

Thank you for any help you can provide!

Edit: Thank you very much to the kind soul from Argentina that donated!
Edit 2: One hour to go, and 436.27 away from keeping the apartment – thank you all who have donated so far, so very very much. By the way, for those who are wondering, yes I will pay you all back.
Edit 3: Vicki – the amazing manager here at Riverchase Apartments in Tulsa has extended my deadline to Monday morning – I am still 436.27 away from the goal, so any help is appreciated! Also, for the naysayers – I do plan on posting a picture of the money order made out to Riverchase for 1343.55 so you will know this is not a scam.
Edit 4: Now I am currently 380 away from the goal, thank you so much to everyone who has helped thus far!
Edit 5: Gotta have the money by Monday, still 380USD away, but I am hoping I will make it.

Where does the time go?

So, it has been a long time since I last blogged – seems to happen a lot actually – I just don’t find anything interesting enough to talk about, sorry about that! On the Gentoo side, not a whole lot going on there for me, mainly due to the Personal side, which follows…

I am currently in the process of moving, in with a friends grandparents, for a little while at least, so I am packing up all my stuff, I seem to have accrued quite a bit while living here for the past almost 3 years, and I am still not sure what I am going to do with some things, for example I have wanted a new computer desk for a while as the current one I have is extremely bulky and huge, and no easy way to move it around as its in about 7 different (large) pieces. I have all the computers, which isn’t an issue, and most importantly is the car that is still not running, figuring out how to get it over to the new place, or more specifically – a mechanic who can actually look at it. I have had a couple people look at it – but the biggest issue has always been, whenever someone takes a look at it, it starts right up as soon as I turn the key. Then after the person is no longer around, it won’t start anymore. Personally, I think it is something in the electronics, but I am a computer guy, not a car guy.
As always, there are some other things and more to it, but at present I don’t want to talk about them.
