I got it!

Well, I did end up getting the job! I started on Friday, and didn't do a ton of stuff, most of the day was spent cleaning up my cubicle (the guy who was using it didn't get finished moving his stuff out Thursday. Then I had to setup my Windows machine, as well as my Linux machine.  Unfortunately, this weekend is a holiday, so I don't go back to work until Tuesday, its still too early to tell, but I really do think I am going to like it there.  We shall see where things lead…

Good news on the horizon

So, Monday I have an interview at a place I've been trying to get a job at, since February. What is a bit ironic is that I was offered a job there in December and I turned it down. Shows my stupidity hehe. Anyways, hopefully I get the job because it takes advantage of my Linux knowledge, and it would be nice to have a job that I get to actually use my talents in. We will see how it goes though…

Edit: I have rescheduled the interview for Thursday, because of time constraints between when my roommates work, and when I would need to be there for the interview (as I still don't have a car – one of the first things I plan to get once I do get a job)

Requesting some infos…

Why hello everyone out there in Gentoo land :)

 Just a request for information (lots of it actually, as much as possible :) )

What I am looking for is, if you are using a USB Keyboard or mouse, and you have hal installed, I would like the following informations

From either lshal or using the hal-device-manager,

select your usb keyboard/mouse (or find it in the output)

info.udi, info.product, usb_device.{device_revision_bcd,product,product_id,speed_bcd,vendor,vendor_id,version_bcd}

Also, if you have to use xmodmap, or you have it setup in your xorg.conf – the various configurations that you use.  Please send them to my email address steevatgentoodotorg :)   I am trying to gather as many of these various device informations as much as possible – and if you aren't using Gentoo, and you read this planet, or this blog – any Linux distro where you can easily get this information, those informations would also be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance everyone who responds!

So yeah

My biological mom passed away some time last night or this morning.  Don’t really have much more info than that. Unlikely I will goto the funeral or anything since I live a few states away.  Not really sure how I feel about it.  Weird thing was, some time late last night/early early this morning before I got the news, my heart started racing, and I couldn’t figure out why.
